LUMENS: We’re no longer counting the number of LEDs in a light, because LEDs are graded for brightness at the time of manufacture, making LED count meaningless. Though LEDs are not light bulbs, they are being incorporated into light bulb type assemblies. These assemblies illuminate a frosted surface and the term ”Lumens” has been used to rate the surface brightness.
For reference purposes only, a 60 watt household incandescent light bulb produces about 800 to 850 Lumens. A 100 watt light bulb produces about 1700 to 1800 Lumens. Measuring brightness and colors is still subjective from person to person.
BUOYANCY:Our LEDgreenie lights are designed to float upright some distance in front of you and anchored in place. Other suppliers make lights that hang straight down and waste half their light behind you. Nothing wrong with either concept, The former concepts is more sophisticated. The latter type does not depend on buoyancy.
Buoyancy is simply the weight of water the light assembly displaces and deducting the weight of the light assembly from this number. An anchored and upright floating light has to support all of the light’s weight, power cable weight, and anchor line weight.
